Please remember to follow the expectations outlined by the VT DOH at all times. We want your children to be able to continue to be together, in person. This will take each and everyone of us to make this happen.

Math: We had a great time playing our new math game, Target Twenty! The directions for this game are linked on our remote schedule. Try playing this at home… we hope you have fun!
Word Study: Students are continuing to work hard spelling words with open syllables. Please support your child to apply closed, vowel-consonant-e, and open syllables in their writing. Students should be writing in complete sentences, with capitalization and punctuation, throughout their writing.
Writing: We hope you have enjoyed some of our letters! This week, we have learned about the parts of a friendly letter and how to punctuate greetings and closings.
Reading: Second graders wrapped up their work in our ‘Becoming Experts’ unit. We are excited to keep these skills going as we read fiction and nonfiction!
Theme: Students are continuing our Second Step unit devoted to emotion management. This week, we practiced using belly breathing to calm down strong feelings. We worked to understand how when you feel strong feelings, it’s important to calm down so you can think, learn , and ask for help when you need it.
Kindness: On Friday, we enjoyed celebrating kindness by sharing kindness cards with each other!
