Reminders:
Please remember to follow the expectations outlined by the VT DOH at all times. We want your children to be able to continue to be together, in person. This will take each and everyone of us to make this happen.
Please remember that we try to go outside everyday. Support your children to have weather appropriate clothing and footwear.
Please check your child’s extra clothing supplies. We recommend packing 2-3 extra pairs of socks so that your child can change into dry ones after outside time.
Please sign & return your child’s semester one report card envelope.
From our administration, “We often receive many inquiries about Valentine's Day at school. Our K-4 classrooms will be recognizing Valentine's Day in an inclusive manner - focused on kindness toward one another. Classrooms will focus on a week and/or month of kindness and appreciation. We ask that individual Valentine's cards and treats not be brought in from home, as classrooms will be focused on already planned activities and creations.”
This week flew by! Some highlights include:
Our Poetry Celebration. Students have worked so hard exploring and learning about poetry during this unit. We hope you enjoy our poems! Some students asked to be featured on the blog reading their poems, check it out below!
We began our month long theme: Kindness. We had fun starting to write kindness notes!
Mathematicians are working hard making sense of story problems and solving addition and subtraction equations using place value and the open number line.
We are learning so much about nonfiction books and how to grow our language and understanding of different topics during reader’s workshop.
We wrapped up our sixth unit of study in Word Study.
We got to use the sleds for the first time at recess!
